It has been a long time since facebook entered our lives
through computers and even mobiles. Every day thousands of people join this
popular social network and share ideas, photos and give comments about other
things which they are interested in. As a communication tool, it is really
enjoyable to connect with friends who you may have not seen from college time. But
it has some disadvantages beside this. Let’s see how your privacy is overlooked
by facebook.
Likes and Comments are shown for your friends
When you start liking or commenting on a photo or status in
facebook, automatically facebook makes your friends aware of this. Consider that
you commented on a photo about fashion and your friends on facebook will see news
feed telling that you commented on this photo!
Maybe you didn’t like to publish your idea with your own
friends. Or someone in our friend list! Then this is something that you cannot
prevent facebook from doing. And your privacy was not private, and it went
public with your friends. facebook itself sees this as a way of advertising its
posts and says that the nature of social networks is like this to tell others
about the opinions of other users.
So it is important to know this, and for example if you don’t
like others to know about something special, try not to comment or like that
post!!
New design
Facebook started a new design presentation to users
worldwide, but that was not a successful idea. Form the very beginning users
started to complain about this new design and some of them could get their
facebook style back to old look, but others are still suffering from this new design.
New design had some changes in how facebook side bar looks
like and also changes in fonts, and news feed style. Previously photos were
loaded completely in news feed but now larger photos are not shown completely, they
are shown inside a square and not wholly. You have to click on the photo to be loaded,
also if you had a page in facebook, now you can manage them easily inside bar,
which is thinner than the old design side bar. Groups and apps are also loaded
under pages and when you click on top of this menu bar it extends and shows
more information about the content inside.
They put a part in top right side menu, and it is about new
design. Users can give feedback about their experience with new style. I wrote
more than 10 times for the support team to revert my profile to old design but
I didn’t receive any response. One of my friends who was not satisfied with
this new design wrote the same complain and his profile was back to old design
a day after!
